Candy Kingdom Defense tier list
Choose the next useful investment, not just the highest letter.
Independent editorial guide · Source-based, not personally tested
New collection: start with an available Finn or Jake. Already prepared to evolve? Alien Jake and Marceline Beast lead the source author’s comparison. These are different investment situations; do not treat an evolved S tier as your required first unit. [1][2]
A source-attributed tier overview
Serhii Patskan’s October 21 Phrasemaker list places these heroes as follows. It excludes Secret and Battle Pass heroes. This is a single author’s evaluation, not our damage test or an official ranking. [2]
| Source tier | Heroes | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| S | Alien Jake · Marceline Beast | Evolved control / boss-focused options. |
| A | Billy · King BMO · Adult Finn · Marceline | Developed damage and specialist choices. |
| B | Jake · Prism Queen Rainicorn · BMO · Lemongrab | Useful roles; rank alone does not price an acquisition. |
| C | Flame Princess · Gumball Guardian | Lower source priority, not a claim that they cannot clear content. |
The source describes Alien Jake as a group-control option and Marceline Beast as a boss specialist; it calls base Jake a useful starter. Detailed numerical comparisons are omitted because this site has not verified their test conditions. [2]
Turn a tier into your next decision
| Your situation | Your next useful decision | What to postpone |
|---|---|---|
| Only a starter is available | Use that starter to learn the opening and identify where the attempt fails. | Chasing an evolved unit before a usable opening. |
| A basic squad can clear reliably | Compare a hero you own with the specific role the squad lacks. | Replacing a working unit just because another name ranks higher. |
| You own a base hero and are planning evolution | Evaluate the evolved role separately; check the real requirements before committing. | Treating this comparison as a complete farming or recipe guide. |
| You are pushing a specific boss or later mode | Use this list as a shortlist, then seek evidence for that exact encounter. | Assuming an early campaign recommendation proves endgame performance. |
Base forms and evolved projects
The developer names Alien Jake, Adult Finn and King BMO among the game’s evolutions. Their existence is official; investment order remains an editorial judgment. [1]
A practical comparison has two questions: can the unit help the next attempt, and can you actually obtain or develop it? A high source rank answers neither by itself. Keep the character’s form attached to its name so you do not apply an evolved recommendation to a base hero.
A compact investment checklist
- Name the part of the attempt that failed: opening, group coverage or a tough enemy.
- Check which owned hero can contribute to that problem now.
- Make one focused change and compare the next attempt before switching the entire squad.
New to placement and match upgrades? Start with the first defense guide. Need the current reported reward strings? Use codes and redemption.
